Integration Architecture

“Application programming interfaces — more commonly known as APIs — are at the heart of the most successful digital companies, ...”

Tiffany Xingyu Wang & Matt McLarty

Application Integration is about integrating Software based Capabilities into Enterprises - no matter of what size. There is a huge potential in making data and functions of Applications available for seamless integration within an enterprise and beyond. Therefore topics like the API Ecosystem should find its place in every IT Strategy. In our opinion, Application Integration is one of the most important capabilities an Enterprise IT should have nowadays. The ability to integrate On-Demand or Standard Software into an existing Application Landscape is a key driver for Digitalization.

Often we can see how hard it is to integrate new Solutions into Enterprises - especially if the core systems are way over 20years old and very limited in resources and extendibility. Our Software Architects have experienced a large amount of integration projects with a wide range of technologies. That goes from Integration of modern SaaS Products into large Application Landscapes of mainly Mainframe based Systems, over implementing ESB centralized approaches, to decentralized and API oriented integration solutions, using tools like API Management, the Kafka ecosystem or Mulesoft.
